about
Michael Burke established Sculpture Works in Dublin, Ireland in
1983, having qualified from N.C.A.D. (National College of Art
& Design, Dublin). Michael has a genuine sensitivity and a
unique ability to handle and combine a variety of materials including
bronze, steel, wood, stained glass, ceramics and stone. This sensitivity
is reflected in artworks created for commissions in public locations,
interior and exterior, for churches and other liturgical spaces
and for private clients.
Michael Burkes adaptability and flexibility when working
with the design team is reflected in all stages of the process
from initial contact with the client through to the installation
of the finished work. Michaels strength lies in progressing
the clients initial concept into a tactile reality.
With over 20 years involvements in the arts, Michael Burke
held the position of chairman of Sculpture Society of Ireland
- now Visual Artists Ireland for many years. He was elected
president of International Society of Christian Artists (S.I.A.C.)
in 2005 and in 2006 was elected to the Executive Committee of
the European Council of Artists.
Works created by Michael Burke are located in Ireland, The United
Kingdom, Africa and the United States.
